Immobilise phone crime

Immobilise phone crime

The mobile phone networks and retailers, the government and the police have come together to create a new, national mobile phone database.

Nearly £2 million has been raised by the mobile phone industry and the Metropolitan Police to extend this new, highly effective means of clamping down on mobile phone crime.

The "Immobilise" campaign has been launched by the mobile phone industry and the Metropolitan Police supported by the Home Office. A major outdoor advertising campaign is launching from 4th March across London with plans to roll out across the UK in the next few months. Major retailers such as The Carphone Warehouse, The Link and Phones 4 U are also supporting the campaign throughout their stores.

The message now is simple : stolen phones don't work anymore.
